Our mission is to create a unique and lasting memorial to Dyess crews who have been lost in the line of duty. Led by local volunteers, community leaders and the Abilene Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs committee, we have received generous donations of time in the earliest stages of the Dyess Memorial Park Expansion Project.
We believe that the plans for the expansion will be a worthy tribute to those who have died in service to our country. Please consider a tax deductible gift in support of this important effort. Together we can honor the fallen.
UPDATE: Exciting news! Thanks to the many generous donors and to the relentless work of a diligent committee, our community has successfully raised the necessary dollars to fund the Dyess Memorial Park Expansion. We have a goal to break ground on October 2, 2018. (anniversary date of the loss of Torqe 62)
Phase 1 COMPLETE
Phase one is complete. Land has been secured, plans have been rendered and architectural models are now in place.
Phase 2 COMPLETE
Phase 2 is underway. During this period we are seeking funding for the project on both a local and national level.
Once funded, construction will begin in earnest. Completion of this project will mark the end of Phase 3. Groundbreaking scheduled for October 2, 2018.
